yesterday i saw a young man walking to the subway in Grand Central Station wearing a fedora. it was classic, suave, and masculine all at the same time. and it used to be the norm. i wish it still was.

i probably should have put this up before/on valentine’s day, but i was busy. anyhoo, this has provided ENDLESS entertainment since early college. i would recommend you don’t put your coworker’s names in. and then tell them how compatible you are. in front of their spouse. especially if that number is higher than they are.

what you find when you clean out your email →
this was an article about Richard Yates i emailed to myself last year after reading Revolutionary Road. the book (and movie) floored me with its unapologetic realism, tragically flawed and approachable characters, and its ability to be incredibly complex within its simplicity. i think i sent it to myself as a way to remember other books he wrote that i should read, but then forgot. perhaps by...

best pseudo-hippies: those outside bollo’s cafe in Blacksburg.
most New Kenty moment: 4 separate people telling me on 4 separate occasions that thursday was “pajamas day” at Sunshine Nursery School. only one of...

wahooweek photos
there was a lot of snow in virginia. it stranded me for an extra day (which all in all is not a bad thing, since i got to stay with my parents longer and have them dote on/feed me). but i do have a few photos that should be shared. sadly, no photos of the happy otters playing in a pond. some birds just weren’t meant to be caged.
there are few things prettier than the Rotunda in...

because that’s my neighborhood. but instead i’m in virginia, watching otters play in the pond outside my parents’ house. which is nice and sweet (sorry, no pictures of that).

- free sweet tea from a roadside stand on I-81
- parking illegally (twice) in charlottesville, yet not getting a ticket for either
- seeing kendall!
- making friends with uva law school students who are friends with people i know in nyc
- not being stuck by inclement weather (so far)

welcome to wahooweek
it’s wahooweek, named by me because i’m in virginia for work, and spending the majority of my time in charlottesville, also the home of my alma mater, the university of virginia. like most people, i have mixed feelings about my time here. there were some ridiculous aspects; for instance, were so many pink collared shirts on boys really necessary? no, they weren’t. and our...
